Young South African Entrepreneurs Visit Israel

September 15 - 19, 2014

The South Africa-Israel Forum (SAIF) partnered with Investec to organize the first-ever Young Entrepreneurs pilot trip to Israel. The goal of the trip was to help promising South African entrepreneurs learn from Israel's spirit of innovation, build connections between Israel and Africa, and ultimately make meaningful and sustainable contributions to South Africa. The group visited Tel Aviv's DLD Innovation Festival and The HookUp Dinner along with the delegation from Kenya's iHub. The group also enjoyed some special events of their own. For example, the Young Entrepreneurs were fortunate to attend a dinner with South African / Israeli business mogul Morris Kahn, who spoke about the many ventures he has started throughout his life and emphasized the importance of accepting failure as a part of the entrepreneurial cycle. It was only the second time Kahn had attended this kind of event, so we are very grateful for the opportunity to meet him and learn from his story.
